Priority: To have the Rock Island/Milan community feel they have high quality schools.
Indicators: Community Survey, administered by Personal Marketing Research, Inc (PMR) for Renaissance Rock Island.

When: Given each spring, every third year (2002, 2005, 2008, 2010). Results will be received by October, every two years (beginning 2008).
Determination of survey: Renaissance Rock Island contracted PMR to conduct the survey to a random sample of residents and non-residents of the City of Rock Island. The sample study is comprised of 800 respondents, 400 residents, 400 non-residents. The survey is conducted by phone.
Determination of survey questions: Renaissance Rock Island developed the questions with input from the superintendent for some of the questions specific to Rock Island Public Schools. The questions being utilized for this metrics are; Rate your public schools in:
Teachers in Public Schools (if have children in schools)
Education children receive
Elected Officials
Quality of Public Schools
Communications Citizens/Schools
Determination of baseline score, current score and goal:
Choices for answering are from 1 (best) to 5 (worst): Scores represent the median for the 1-5 scale as determined by the outside surveying firm. Scores are accumulated for all responses to the five questions listed above then averaged for a single scorecard metric.
Comparatives: As this survey was created by Renaissance Rock Island, the only comparatives are past
years scores, and some of the above questions were used for the first time in 2008.
Trending: One year of data is currently available to determine a limited trend line (2008). After determining average scores for two surveys, trends will be examined and analyzed to determine future goals. These goals will then be shared with cabinet and leadership team reps, with adjustments being made, as needed. Each year the survey is given, scores/trends will be examined to determine if
adjustments need to be made.
