Priority:  To have students annually move to the next grade level

Indicator:  Percentage of students that annually move to the next higher grade

Type of report:  Bar graph

Report frequency:  Annual

Responsible for metric:  Technology Department, MIS Coordinator and building secretaries.

Distribution:  Cabinet, Principals, Board of Education, Community

When:  Two weeks after start of school year (to get prior year metric)

Determination of promotion rate:  
In Discovery database, MIS Coordinator rolls all students forward to next grade level after summer school concludes.  Secretaries in schools move retained students back to prior year grade and placed a check in the retained field.  

To get percentage promoted, sum all students with a blank in the retained field and divide by total number of students enrolled in the system.

Trending:  Five years of data will be presented.
