Welcome to the Rock Island-Milan School District! Our mission is to develop high-achieving world citizens!

Rock Island-Milan School District #41 currently consists of 8 neighborhood elementary schools, 1 elementary magnet school, 2 junior high schools, 1 high school, 1 alternative junior/senior high school, one special needs preschool, and the Head Start program.

Kindergarten/First Grade Entrance Age

Children who are five years of age on or before September 1, 2012, will be permitted to enter kindergarten for the 2011-12 year. Children who are six years of age on or before September 1, 2012, will be permitted to enter first grade.

Medical Information

All children entering the school district from out of state need to present proof of up-to-date immunizations and a school physical within 30 days of school entrance. No medication can be given in the schools (including over the counter and prescription medications) without written permission from the doctor and guardian. Medication permission slips MUST be renewed annually.

Kindergarten: Physical, vision & dental exam

2nd grade: Dental exam

6th grade: Physical and dental exam

9th / Freshman: Physical exam

Sports physicals are also required to participate in extra curricular activities and are separate from a regular physical examination.

New Students Must Bring

  • Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Illinois physical and immunization record
  • Current Copy of IEP if available
  • Proof of address, such as utility bill or water bill (address must be printed on the bill) Driver’s license and cell phone bills are unacceptable.
