Welcome to the Rock Island-Milan School District! Our mission is to prepare high achieving college and career ready global citizens.

Rock Island-Milan School District #41 currently consists of 8 neighborhood elementary schools, 1 elementary magnet school, 2 junior high schools, 1 high school, 1 alternative junior/senior high school, one special needs preschool, and the Head Start program.

Families who are new to our district may enroll their child at the individual school. If you are unsure of what school boundary you are in, check the boundary map >>

Kindergarten/First Grade Entrance Age

Children who are five years of age on or before September 1 of the current school year will be permitted to enter kindergarten. Children who are six years of age on or before September 1 of the current school year will be permitted to enter first grade.

Medical Information

All children entering the school district from out of state need to present proof of up-to-date immunizations and a school physical within 30 days of school entrance. No medication can be given in the schools (including over the counter and prescription medications) without written permission from the doctor and guardian. Medication permission slips MUST be renewed annually. Read the current list of required vaccinations and to download health exam forms >> 

New Students Must Bring

  • Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Illinois physical and immunization record
  • Current Copy of IEP if available
  • Proof of address, such as utility bill or water bill (address must be printed on the bill) Driver’s license and cell phone bills are unacceptable.
