Wednesday, August 8:

Students who ordered a PE uniform – The shipment has not arrived yet.  You will receive uniform as soon as it arrives.

PICTURES HAVE BEEN CANCELLED TOMORROW.  WE WILL KNOW THE RESCHEDULED DATE BY THE END OF THE WEEK.

SINCE THERE ARE NO PICTURES TOMORROW, PE CLASSES WILL DRESS FOR PE TOMORROW.

Tryouts for 7^th grade girls’ volleyball will be Wednesday and Thursday 2:30-3:30.

Make sure to get your picture envelope from your Advisor.  School pictures are this Thursday, August 9.

All 7th and 8th grade football players need to turn in their paperwork and get their physical before they can receive equipment and practice.

Equipment handout for 8th grade is this Thursday, August 9 and for 7th grade on Friday August 10th.  The first day of practice is Monday August 13.  All paperwork must be turned in before you can practice!

Do you want to make a difference here at school and in the community?  Do you think you are a leader?  Then why not join Student Council!  If you have not yet picked up your Student Council Application, please make sure you do!  They will be available on Wednesday by Room 211 on 2^nd floor.  Forms are due back by August 15.

Everyone is invited to the annual WJHS Open House on Tuesday, August 14.  It will start at 6:00 P.M.  Parents will meet in their child’s Advisory and follow their schedule for the next two hours.  The classes will last about 12 minutes each, during which teachers will explain what will be happening in those classes during the coming year.  The WJHS PTA will be there giving parents the opportunity to join and buy Washington spirit wear.    Students, please make sure your parents know about the Open House and attend.  Students are welcome to attend as well.

Rock Island Jr. Rocks Baseball – Tryouts for the 2013 Season will be August 11 and August 12 at Saukie Field.  Check in the main office for tryout times.

All students late to school must sign-in in Room 105.  Students late to school must have a written note from parent excusing tardiness.  Students are allowed 5 excused tardies a year.  Students late to school due to a medical appointment must have a medical excuse from a doctor or dentist.  Medical excuses are not counted as tardies.  Beginning Monday, August 13 students late to school will be issued a tardy to school detention if they do not have written excuse from parent.

Students absent from school must have a parent call school to report absence.  Student must return to school with a written, parent signed note explaining absence.  Absence notes go to the Attendance Office first thing in the morning.  Students bringing notes to the office will be given a pass to class.

Students are reminded not to walk on the grass in the front lawn when they come to school in the mornings and leave at the end of the day.  They are to use the sidewalks.  With the drought conditions, walking on the grass damages it.  It may look dead, but is in fact merely dormant.  Obviously, you can be on the grass on the playground out back.

All students entering the building must enter through the cafeteria doors.  There will be a staff member supervising the cafeteria doors in the morning.  In order to enter, before school, you must have a pass.  No student is allowed in through the parking lot doors, this is to include band students.
