Anime Club will meet today and NOT NEXT FRIDAY. Any girl that is interested in basketball or soccer and has not yet seen Mrs. Fulton, please see her after school in room 208. The semi-formal dance is tonight. To be eligible, no out of school suspensions and no more than 1 TEC for 4th quarter, all detentions served, all conditions paid or cleared in the main office. All library fines paid or cleared with Mrs. Long in the library. ALL students will pay $5 for this dance. Tickets go on...

All eligible students pay $5. The last day to check out books in the library will be May 18th. An awesome end to the girls’ track and field season, 7th grade placed 2nd and 8th grade placed 4th out of 7 teams! Congrats to the seventh grade boys’ team, even though they only had 10 boys they were still able to take second place in the seven team conference. Eighth grade boys finished fourth. WJHS 2012 Medal of Honor WinnersThe Rock Island-Milan School District is hosting the annual “Medal of Honor” Banquet on Thursday, May 17 at 6 P.M. at the Holiday Inn in downtown Rock Island. The purpose of the banquet is to honor outstanding students in our school district who have proven themselves to be all-around good students, good citizens, and caring individuals who bring with them a positive force that helps to influence the school to be a better place to learn and grow. The “Medal of Honor” winners from WJHS are 8th graders; Jakob Beierlein and Betty Hall, 7th grade; Alexis Mercado and Joshua Teggatz. Congratulations Warriors! Read More →
MathCounts Competition
We had some very impressive results at the MathCounts competition. Illinois and Iowa competed in the regional competition at Bettendorf Middle School on Saturday. There were 13 or so teams (Churchill, Seton, Jordan, Rivermont, PV, Bettendorf, United (Monmouth), Muscatine, Bellvue, North Scott, etc). The MathCount’s team of Elizabeth Moore, Maggie Flowers, Jake Aunan and Melissa Hagerty placed 2nd with Churchill taking first. WJHS had FIVE of the top ten individual, two of them in the top 4. Those who placed in the top ten were: Kylie Wymer, Melissa Hagerty, Elizabeth Moore, Jake Aunan and Sabrina Alt. Elizabeth and Melissa will be representing WJHS at state next weekend! Wish them luck!
