Rocky students Amy and Amber Haskill along with brother Logan (’17 Graduate) have their own non-profit, Closet2Closet, an organization that focuses on teens in Foster care. They just returned from a 4 day transformative experience at the Allstate Foundation Good Starts Young Rally, where they received incredible mentoring and support from celebrities, business leaders, and experts in areas such as marketing and storytelling. There was also a competition for a grand prize, and the other teams from high schools and colleges around the nation addressed social injustices including poverty, hunger, neighborhood violence, racism and women’s empowerment. HERE’S THE GOOD PART – their mom, Ali, shared the incredible news that “our little team from Rock Island that focused on a very narrow area (teens in foster care) WON the grand prize!!! They received $10,000 for their nonprofit and even better, received unbelievably helpful mentoring and tools that undoubtedly will take their nonprofit to the next level.” Congratulations to the Haskills!
