Rock Island High School student Logan Haskill (16) was named as one of Illinois top youth volunteers of 2017 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism. Logan is one of 234 in the nation bestowed with the honor of being a Distinguished Finalist in the program. He was presented with a bronze medal at the Rock Island-Milan Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, March 28.
Logan earned the honor for his work on “QC Closet2Closet,” a nonprofit he co-founded that has provided clothes and other necessities to more than 300 young people in the Quad City area who are homeless or living in foster care.
“Through his and his families work with QC Closet to Closet, Logan has helped countless individuals in a time that they may have felt that no one else was there for them and no one else cared,” said Rock Island High School teacher Andrea Parer. “Logan cared. He is a young man who is sure to have nothing but greatness happen in his life and he is a true example of why This House Rocks!”
