2012-2013 School Registration in July

The Rock Island-Milan School District has set school registration dates for the 2012-2013 school year. School supply lists will be distributed at registration and also posted on the www.rockislandschools.org web site in July.

Thursday, July 19
*Elementary: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Jr. High: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
High School: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. & 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Friday, July 20
*Elementary: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Jr. High: 9:00 a.m. – Noon
High School: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. & 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday, July 25 – Rock Island High School Only
Registration Make Up Date 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. & 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Kindergarten/First Grade Entrance Age
Children who are five years of age on or before September 1, 2012 will be permitted to enter kindergarten. Children who are six years of age on or before September 1, 2012 will be permitted to enter first grade.

*The Rock Island Center for Math & Science held school registration in May. Students registered at RICMS do not need to register again on July 19 & 20.

Important Information:

Registration fee: $55 (elementary and jr. high); $70 (high school)

Medical Information
All children entering our district from out of state need to present proof of up-to-date immunizations and a school physical within 30 days of school entrance. No medication can be given in the schools (including all over the counter and prescription medications) without written permission from the doctor and guardian. This is for the child’s protection. Medication permission slips MUST be renewed annually.

New Students Must Bring:
Birth Certificate
Social Security Card
Illinois physical and shot record
Current copy of IEP if available
Proof of address: something that shows address such as utility bill or water bill. Driver’s License and cell phone bills are unacceptable.

Returning Students Must Bring:
Kindergarten: Physical and dental exam
2nd grade: Dental exam
6th grade: Physical and dental exam.
Proof of address: something that shows address such as utility bill or water bill. Driver’s License and cell phone bills are unacceptable.

High School Student ID photo’s will be taken during registration in the library.
