Washington Jr. High MathCounts Team Earns 2nd Place

The Washington Jr. High MathCounts team earned 2nd place at the MathCounts competition in Bettendorf on February 5. The “mathletes” competed against each other individually, and then as teams, culminating to the Countdown Round, an oral round in which students compete head-to-head. Eighth grader Sean Pohl took 1st place as an individual after the countdown round and will be going to the state competition in March. Seventh grader Melissa Hagerty received 7th place as an individual.
