College Credit Courses
Black Hawk College – Dual Credit Program
At Rock Island High School we are happy to announce that we are continuing our partnership with Black Hawk College which gives juniors and seniors an opportunity to receive college credit before graduation. Because Black Hawk College is easily accessible, we see this as an advantageous opportunity for our students. Dual credit courses are taught at the high school campus or at the college campus in Moline, IL. The classes are available to students who have met or will meet graduation requirements before their high school graduation date. Tuition and cost to cover textbooks and supplemental materials for classes is the responsibility of the student and their family. The Rock Island/Milan School district is not fiscally responsible for fees associated with the college credit classes. What is the difference between dual credit and dual enrollment?
In dual enrollment, a student is enrolled in a course at Black Hawk College and receives college credit for it while in high school.
Dual credit means that the senior student may receive both high school and college credit for the course taken through Black Hawk College.
What are the benefits of dual credit/dual enrollment?
