Rock Island High School’s mission is to challenge all students to reach their fullest potential in a respectful and safe environment, preparing them for success in a rapidly changing global society.
Rocky is located at 1400 25th Avenue, Rock Island.
Rock Island High School is located in a large campus bordered by 17th Street, 23rd Avenue, and 25th Avenue. Seventeenth Street is a main thoroughfare in Rock Island. The campus is surrounded by a single-family neighborhood intermixed with some small, quiet apartment buildings.
The Rock Island-Milan School District operates on a modified year-round calendar. School starts in early August, and students have 2-week breaks in the fall, winter, and spring.

Twenty-five percent of our students walk to and from school, 60 percent use a car, and 15 percent use the bus.

RIHS offers a web page, telephone services, appointments, and newsletters from the Principal as ways to communicate with parents and get them involved in their children’s education.
Conflict Resolution or PBIS (Positive Behavior In Schools)
Our discipline follows the guidelines established by the Rock Island-Milan School Board.
There is Peer Mediation available when needed.
