ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR TUESDAY THE 15TH

SUMMER READING PROGRAM
Today, during lunch in the cafeteria, stop and visit with Emily Tobin from the Rock Island Public Library.  Emily will have information for you about the Rock Island library’s summer reading program.  Be sure to stop and say hi!

FRESHMAN CLASS RINGS
Attention: Freshman Class Teachers: On Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 9:05am Mike Roberts will be presenting the new class ring design for the class of 2015. Teachers please take attendance and escort your class to the auditorium during 2nd period. If you are teaching multiple levels (9, 10, 11, 12) please stay in your classroom and send student or students to the auditorium.

CAP & GOWN PICKUP
Graduating Seniors:  You may pick up your cap, gown and graduation tickets on Friday the 18th from 11:30 to 1:30 in the cafeteria.

CONDITIONS
Starting today, the main office will no longer accept checks for senior student’s condition payments.  Payments must be cash or a money order.

PROM TICKETS
Hey junior and seniors!  Buy your Prom tickets today at the price of $20. Next Thursday, the price of tickets goes up to $25 and it will also be the last day to purchase prom tickets.  Don’t forget to pick up the Post Prom contracts when you buy your tickets.  All junior and seniors are eligible to attend post prom even if they do not attend prom.  Forms must be filled out and returned before May 18th.  Get your tickets and your post prom contracts today!

LOFL
Light On For Learning After School Tutorials will end for the year on Thursday, May 17th in Math, English, ELL, Credit Recovery, Computer Concepts, Study Skills, and Latino Awareness. Special prizes will be given out this week to regular attendees.

BAND NEWS
Congratulations to the RIHS Symphonic Band! The Symphonic Band auditioned and was selected as a 2013 Illinois Music Educators Association All-State Honor Band.  This is the highest honor a concert band can attain in the state of Illinois.  The band will be performing in January 2013 at the All-State conference in January.  Congratulations to all the students on their hard work and great accomplishment!
