BLOOD DRIVE
Staff and students: The Student Blood Drive is today from 8:00am – 1:00pm in the Field House. Students were given a reminder card stating their appointment time. This card should serve as their pass to come down to donate. Those returning from giving blood with have a yellow pass indicating the time they exited the field house.
PACERS PROGRAM
PACERS junior and senior meetings today in the Little theater during 3rd and 4th hour.
GIRLS’ SOFTBALL FUNDRAISER
Cookie dough is being sold by the girls’ softball team as a fundraiser. There are 6 different delicious flavors to choose from. If you are interesting in purchasing cookie dough, please see any softball player or Mr. Ebner and Mr. Catterton for more information.
NHS
NHS Invitees: Seniors: your acceptance letter, dues, volunteer hours, baby pictures and future plans should be turned in this Friday if you haven’t done so already. Baby pictures and future plans can be given to Mrs. Hayek in room 156, Mr. Hawley in room 126 or Michaela Garrison. Michaela needs these items to work on the senior slide show for the ceremony. Also be sure you’ve filled out an invitation envelope to send home. Juniors–your volunteer hours and dues should be turned in by this Friday to Mrs. Hayek or Mr. Hawley. Also be sure than you’ve filled out an invitation envelope to send home. Sophomores–dues should be turned in by Friday to Mrs. Hayek or Mr. Hawley, and an invitation envelope should be filled out to send home. Please let Mrs. Hayek know if you are finishing volunteer hours during intersession. If you have not filled out an invitation envelope, see Mrs. Hayek.
COUNSELING NEWS
If you are interested in a college visit with Indian Hills College at 11:00 a.m., stop by the counseling office for a pass.
Junior Boys: Would you like an all expense paid week including travel? If so, come to the Counseling Center and pick up information in order to be a delegate to Boys State. This program is a seven day hands-on experience in the operation and fundamentals of government. This year’s session will be held June 9 – 15 at Eastern Illinois University.
Northern Illinois University will be hosting a Health Careers Camp this summer for high school students. If you would like to learn about a variety of health careers and life on a college campus, stop by the counseling office for an application.
CLUBS
Entertainment club will meet on Thursday, after school in Mr. Kennelly’s room.
EAC members: Envirothon practice is today at 3:20 in room 313. See you there!
SCHOLARSHIP NEWS
Juniors – Camp College will be held this summer and it is FREE! Find out how to search for colleges, choose a college, what colleges are looking for in students, how to apply, and how to pay for college. Please stop by the counseling office for more information.
Scholarships of $7,500 await 25 outstanding scholar athletes in grade 12 nationwide. If you are a star both in the classroom and on the field, the Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY) Award Program may be for you. Applications are being accepted online. Stop in the counseling office for more information. Deadline is March 19. 2012.
Attention Juniors: The Thoms Above and Beyond Scholarship is now available on-line! The application and supporting documents are due on April 23rd, 2012. Stop by the counseling office for more information.

Attention boys’ soccer players: There will be a soccer meeting today afterschool in room 211.

LOFL
Lights On For Learning offers tutorials in Math, English, ELL, and Credit Recovery on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Computer Concepts tutorials are offered on Tuesdays at 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Latino Awareness meets every other Thursday in the Library at 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Study Skills are available in the Library Monday through Friday at 7:00 to 7:55 a.m. and Monday, Tuesday, Thursday at 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Please see Mrs. Johnson for an application or further information.
