HOMECOMING INFORMATION
Hey, seniors, are you with us? Float building times are 4 to 10 today and 6 to 10 on Saturday. Come to Jillian Jesperson’s house. Map in room 200.
Attention Sophomores: Float building will be Saturday at 2:00 at Helena Smiley’s house. Bring a friend and be ready to work. For directions please see Helena Smiley or Staci Jones.
Homecoming tickets are on sale until Thursday, September 22nd. No tickets will be sold on Friday, September 23rd! Ticket prices are $10 each from September 12TH through September 16th. On September 19th the price of tickets goes up to $12 each and on September 22nd the price will go up again to $15 dollars each. Please remember conditions must be cleared to purchase tickets. Current ID’s are required to purchase tickets and to enter the dance. Don’t miss out on your chance to take a magical trip to Candy land.
Listen up Spanish Club members! Don’t forget about the float decorating on Monday night at 5:30 at Mrs. Shirk’s house. We need all the help we can get so come for food, fun and to help tomorrow and Monday.
Spanish Club hall decorating has been moved to Saturday, September 17th at 2 p.m. Come help Spanish Club pump up for homecoming!
Junior Class float will have a meeting in room 320 today after school to update progress on the float. See Mr. Gustafson for more information.
TEAN PARENT & CHILD EDUCATION CENTER Z
The Teen Parent & Child Education Center is the day care center provided at Rocky. The center does not promote teen pregnancy. However, the center enables teenage parents, with children 6 weeks to 2 years, to complete their high school education, attend college, and enter the work-force. The daycare available from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays when school is in session and additional hours may be arranged. Did you know the daycare is also available for staff members too? Please see Lori in the daycare for more information.
LOFL
Lights On For Learning After-School tutoring and homework help is available to all students Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays in Math, English, Computer Concepts, Credit Recovery, and ELL from 3:30-4:30. ACT prep is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 -7:55 a.m. with Mrs. Lillis. The Library is open to all students Monday-Friday from 7:15-7:55 a.m. Please see Mrs. Johnson in room 226 for additional information and applications.
SPORTS
The girls’ golf team beat Alleman last night and lost to Galesburg by 6 strokes. Laurel Enstrom led the Rocks with a 38 while Katie Thompson, Mia Kavensky, and Sami Knittle all posted great scores. Great job girls!!
Congratulation goes out the Lady Rocks swimmers. The JV had a victory win with a score of 86 to 69. The varsity team gave a great effort but ended up with a loss of 69 to UT’s score of 107. The JV first placer finishers are: Tiffany Wickard – 200 yard free style time of 3:12.20; Alicia Freiburg – 200 yard I.M. time of 3:50.23; Jacklyn Young – 50 yard Freestyle 32.8985 and 100 yard freestyle time of 1:19.46; Taylor Blackburn – 100 yard Butterfly time of 2:00.55. The JV 200 Freestyle Relay won 1st play with a time of 2:28.52. The team members are Jacklyn Young, Chana Vallejo, Alicia Freiburg, and Ashley Ayala.
The Varsity first place finishers are: Maggie Pappas – 50 yard Freestyle time of 29.35 and the 100 yard breaststroke time of 1:22.30; Kelly Bishop – 100 yard Butterfly 1:02.63; 500 Yard Freestyle 5:33.64. The Varsity 400 yard Freestyle Relay team members scored a time of 4:10.51. The team members are Kelly Bishop, Elizabeth Conner, Courtney Kernen, and Maggie Pappas.

Tonight our football team will play at Moline starting with the sophomore team at 5:00 and varsity at 7:30.

Boys Cross Country team will compete at Richmond Hills against Geneseo starting at 9:00 a.m.
Girls Cross Country team will compete away against Dunlap starting at 10 a.m.
Boys Golf will complete away at Lick Creek against Pekin Classic starting at 8:30 a.m.
Girls Golf will compete away at Sandy Hollow at the Guilford Invite starting at 10 a.m.
Girls Swim will compete away at the Clinton Invitational starting at 9 a.m.
Girls Tennis will compete away at the Moline JV Invite starting at 8:30 a.m.
VB (V & S) Big 6 will compete away at Galesburg against Quincy and Galesburg starting at 11 a.m.
Freshman VB will compete at home in a Double Dual against Bettendorf & Galesburg starting at 10 a.m.
Boys Soccer (JV/V) will compete away at Richwoods starting at 10 and noon.
