2011-12 Registration Information

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. The following information will assist you in the registration process for your student(s).

Registration – Library
Wednesday, July 20, 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Thursday, July 21, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

First Day of School: Wednesday, August 3, 2011
Grades 10-12: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Freshmen 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

First Full Day of School: Thursday, August 4, 2011

Forms:
Registration Fees: $70.00
Driver’s Ed: $100.00
Gym Shirts: $4.00
Gym Shorts: $5.00
Yearbook: $35.00
One check may be used for registration fees, driver’s education and yearbook.

a. Home Language Survey – Complete annually (Home Language Survey Spanish)
b. Emergency Card
Side one – Complete only if there are changes or the student is new to the high school
Side two – Required to be completed annually for each student
c. Health Authorization Forms – Complete if applicable
d. Physical – Required for incoming 9th graders and students new to the district (form available at physician’s office).
e. Military Family Questionnaire – To be completed if the student has any immediate family members serving in any branch of the military, or working as a DOD Civilian or Contractor
f. Fee Waiver – Complete if applicable (Fee Waiver Spanish)

Student schedules will be passed out at registration. THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, STUDENTS ARE TO BRING THEIR SCHEDULES AND REPORT TO THEIR FIRST PERIOD CLASS.

Cafeteria: The cafeteria is cashless. Funds are deposited in your student’s account, and your student’s ID card is used as a debit card to purchase food. A separate check is needed if you would like to deposit money into your student’s cafeteria account during registration.

Conditions: Arrangements must be made for payment of back fees or fines before registration. Call the Main Office at 793-5950 ext 2002/2003 to make these arrangements.

Counselors: The Counseling Department will be open during registration week. Please contact Mrs. Imes at 793-5950 ext. 2010 for an appointment to see your counselor.

Fee Waivers: A Fee Waiver application must be completed for each student on a separate form. Incomplete applications can not be processed.

ID Cards: All RIHS students are required to wear a photo ID on a lanyard around their neck. ID pictures will be taken in the library during the scheduled registration. After the scheduled registration, ID pictures will be taken in the library.

Parking Permits: Students are required to have a parking permit to park in the student lot. These permits cost $10.00 and will be available at registration. To obtain a parking permit, the student will need his/her driver’s license, proof of insurance, license plate number and cash or a separate check for the $10.00 fee.

PE Uniforms: All students are required to wear athletic shoes and the school PE uniform (school issued t-shirt and shorts). For students needing to purchase or replace uniforms, they may be purchased during registration in room 134. Cost is $4 for the t-shirt and $5 for the shorts.

Physicals: All incoming ninth graders and students new to the district are required to have a physical.

School Pictures: All students need to go to the auditorium to have their photo taken during registration. If you choose to purchase any photos, picture packets ranging in costs from $9.00 – $39.00 will be available. Payment is made directly to Photographic Arts at the time pictures are taken.
