A REMINDER FOR ALL STUDENTS
As the weather gets warmer, please remember to be aware of our school dress code.  Students should avoid the following types of clothing for school:  shorts, dresses, or skirts that are shorter than fingertip length; backless or strapless tops; spaghetti strap tops; any clothing where undergarments are visible.  All students are reminded that sun glasses, head coverings, sleepwear, including house shoes or slippers, are not allowed.  Administration will make the final decision on whether an item is appropriate for school.

PRIZE WINNERS
The following students should report to the main office to pick up their prizes from the PSAE student incentive drawing:  Troyann Dail, Rayven Morrow, Jasmine Matejiek.

ORDER YOUR RIHS CHAMPIONSHIP T-SHIRTS NOW
It’s not too late to order the Rock Island ROCKS Official State Championship t-shirt.  Shirts are $10 and available in sizes Youth Small, Youth Medium, and Adult Small through X Large. Size 2XL is $12.00 and 3XL is $13.00.  Stop by the bookstore to pickup an order form and place your order by Tuesday, May 3.  Payment is due at the time or ordering.  Make checks payment to the RIHS Bookstore.

SUMMER SCHOOL NEWS
Students, listen up!  If you are on the waiting list for Federal Government and Consumer Economics, please come to the main office and pay for the 2^nd class of Federal Government and Consumer Economics.  Please remember that cash will only be accepted as payment.

PROM INFORMATION
Prom tickets are NOW ON SALE in the bookstore.  This week ONLY the price is $12 per ticket and you will receive a “unique” and awesome picture frame for EACH ticket sold!  Next week the tickets will go up in price, so don’t wait too long to buy yours!  Prom is Saturday, May 21st at the Milan Community Center…..it is time to “get down and have a great time dancing!”

POST PROM INFORMATION
Please make sure you have an After Prom Party contract when you pick up your Prom tickets. The After Prom Party is FREE to all students attending Prom and to all Jr. and Senior students not attending prom. Review the contract with your parent/guardian, have them sign it, and fill it out completely. If you are bringing a date – then EACH of you must fill out a separate contract with that requires parental information.  All contracts returned to the Book Store by the end of the school day on May 16 will be entered into a special Early Bird drawing for a $100 Visa Gift Card. The drawing will be held at the After Prom event at Apr. 12:30 am. COUNSELING OFFICE NEWS
Seniors: The final exemption form will be in the counseling office starting on Monday May 2^nd. If you were exempt from finals from the ACT/PSAE testing from first semester – you are again exempt this semester finals.  You will have till May 20^th to sign up. There will be no extension.

Seniors: It is now time to sign for your final transcript to be sent.  Please stop in the counseling office (room 1) to do this. If you do not, then your final transcript (to be sent to your college after graduation) cannot be done.  This will include all colleges, including Black Hawk College and the Military.

SPORTS
Congratulations, to the Rock Island Wrestling Club for a great showing at Freestyle State this weekend.  BJ McGhee, Taelor Hufford, Stephen Camp, Darius Henderson, Kyle Kerres, Lucas Rusk, Brian Dehaven, Tyler Dehaven, Michael Cole, and Jean-Louis Sawadago represented Rock Island well.  BJ McGhee placed first, Darius Henderson placed 6th, and Kyle Kerres finished in the top eight. Congratulations and good job guys!
