FAT TUESDAY
Today is FAT TUESDAY. Get out your beads and wear them in honor of Mrs. Boucherab’s French class.
LETTERMAN’S SHIRT SALES
Letterman’s club will be selling this year’s Tailgating and Quarry Crazy shirts for $5, after school on Wednesday and Thursday at the 1st floor concession stand.
FRESHMAN RING MEETING
There will be a freshman ring Meeting on Friday the 11th at 10:30 a.m. in the Auditorium.
SWIRL PICTURES
Swirl pictures are in!! Pictures may be picked up in the bookstore before and after school and during lunch. You must have your current student i.d. and your name must be on the package to pick up pictures.
QUAD CITY’S PROM CLOSET
Will be collecting gently used prom dresses and accessories on Wednesday in front of the dean’s complex from 7 to 8 a.m. and after school from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday’s hour will be from 7 to 8 a.m. and after school from 3 to 5 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Quinlin in room 214.
BIG COOKIE THURSDAY
JUST THINK- you’re tired after school, especially on Thursdays after a long week. But you have that extra dollar in your pocket- make sure you buy a cookie on first floor, right after school!
CLUBS
Congratulations to the Varsity Academic Team. The team placed 4th in the regional tournament last night.
Attention Student Council Members: Our meeting is Wednesday morning at 7:15 to get ready for the blood drive on Thursday. Please remember your snack items, too.
Spanish club has cancelled their meeting today.
COUNSELING
The counseling office will be closed over break – if you are in need of transcripts please stop in by Wednesday to be sure your request if filled.
The following Colleges will be in the Counseling office the week of March 7th. Juniors and Seniors if you wish to visit with the following representative, please stop in for a pass.
Thursday, March 10th: Illinois College at 9:00 a.m.; Western at 10:00 a.m.; Eastern Iowa Community Colleges at 11:00 a.m.

Attention Juniors: Are you concerned about your score on the upcoming ACT? ZAPS Learning Company is here to help. A number of evening and Saturday workshops are scheduled around the Quad Cities. Stop by the counseling office for more details.
LIGHTS ON FOR LEARNING PROGRAMS
YSB will meet Wednesday at 5th period in room 226. Pizza and Pop will be served. Passes will be sent out during 3rd and 4th period.
Lights On For Learning After-School tutoring and homework help is available to all students Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Assistance in Math, English, Computer Concepts, Credit Recovery, ELL, is offered from 3:30-4:30. Students that regularly attend LOFL will receive “cool” planners, various prizes, and field trip opportunities.
LOST AND FOUND
Are you missing your favorite sweatshirt, pair of shoes, jewelry item, or sport bag? You may find it in the lost and found located in the bookstore. Many items are here just waiting for you to take them home. All items unclaimed at the end of 3rd quarter will be donated to Goodwill on behalf of the students of Rock Island High School. Check for your missing items today!
SPORTS
The girls’ basketball banquet will be held tonight in the high school cafeteria at 6 pm. Cost for family and friends that accompany players is $8. Players are free. All players need to have reservations turned in to Mr. Hoover by Friday, March 4th.
Congratulations to Brian Dehaven and Jean-Louis Sawadago. Both wrestlers won their sectional, and qualified for Fresh-Soph State in Springfield this weekend. Great job guys and good luck!
