Announcements for Tuesday the 23rd

If you are interested in taking Summer School Driver Education please come to the Driver Education office (RM 13) to pick up the information.  Students must turn 15 years old by March 1st.  Enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis.

Get your SWIRL Tickets at the bookstore. Swirl will be held at the Plumbers and Pipe fitter’s building on Blackhawk Road from 8-11PM on February 27th.  Tickets are $8.00 today and tomorrow.  Thursday and Friday the tickets will cost you $10.00.  No tickets will be sold after 12:30 on Friday.

Attending Lights on For Learning will surely benefit you in more ways than one.  Lights on For Learning is the gateway to your academic success while enjoying delicious snacks, and great prizes.  Lights On For Learning participants, who attend after-school regularly, could win super prizes, coupons from HAPPY JOE’S, BURGER KING, CHECKERS, ARBYS, SUBWAY, and more. Classes begin at 3:30 with Mr. Smith (MATH) -201, Ms. Rice (ENG)-302, Ms. Stark (MATH)-300, Mr. Hains (Credit Recovery) -128 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Ms. Quinlin (Computer Concepts) will be held on Tuesday from 3:30 to 4:30. Enjoy the benefits that Rocky’s After-School program has to offer.  Be a WINNER!

Club News

Attention members of MTIP:  There has been a change of time for the bus to depart.  The bus for tomorrow will leave from the circle drive at 7:45 AM.  Meet in front of the Dean’s complex.

EAC members and Mrs. Wolber’s students helped at the Outdoor Show this last week-end.  A total of 78 students volunteered working a GRAND TOTAL of 188 hours!!  GREAT JOB EVERYONE

EAC members: remember to bring your money & permission slip for a t-shirt and/or tubing to advisory Wednesday–last chance to sign up.

Student Council members:  You must get your $10.00 in by tomorrow to go to the District Convention.

PACERS STUDENTS: Please remember to turn in your permission slips for your field trip to the Youth Conference.

The Spanish Club students are reminded that we will be going to Friendship Manor tonight at 6:15.  If you are planning to attend, please let Mrs. Shirk know.

National Honor Society meetings will be this week at 7:15 AM in room 156.

Juniors will meet tomorrow, February 24th.

Seniors will meet Thursday, February 25th.

We have much to accomplish, so please be punctual. Dues will be collected, as will volunteer hour sheets for eligible juniors and seniors this year. If you maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better and have current credits for 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, you should receive a notification letter by the end of this week.

BLOOD DRIVE Anybody interested in donating blood for the school wide event on March 11th can sign up with any student council member or with Mrs. Guse in Room 119.

Please stop in the counseling office for a pass if you wish to visit with any of the representatives.

Attention Advanced Placement Students: Now is the time to register for AP Testing.  A schedule of test dates is available in the Counseling Office.  Testing will occur the first two weeks of May 2010. The cost of each test is $86 and money due at the time of registration.  All interested students must register with Ms. Ricketts in the Counseling Office for their test by Friday, March 5th.  Please see Mr. Kingery for more information.

Sports News:

Important!  Last day to join the girls’ track team is today.   No new members will be accepted after today.

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS PLANNING TO PARTICIPATE IN A SPRING SPORT –

A mandatory Athletic Orientation Meeting will be held tomorrow evening, February 24th starting at 6:30pm in the Auditorium.  All students who plan to be on a spring sport team must attend this meeting unless you attended the fall or winter orientation this year, and you must have a parent or guardian with you.

Information on eligibility, team rules, NCAA requirements for college athletics, and Athletic department policies will be discussed.  Team meetings will be held for each individual sport.  Do not forget this important and required meeting, Wednesday at 6:30 in the Auditorium.  Roll will be taken and attendance is mandatory if you want to play a spring sport and have not attended an orientation so far this year.
