Staff and students we are planning our Fourth Annual Diversity Assembly in February. If you have an act to perform at the assembly, please see Mrs. Shirk today. We are looking for anything that deals with another language, culture, or promotes the tolerance of others through music, dance or a skit.
Spanish club members: There is a Spanish club meeting today, after school. Come and join in on the fun.
Attention: Science Club and Earth and Beyond Students: The star party is on! Join us at Mrs. Anderson’s house for free hot chocolate and star gazing with large telescopes. This free event will be tonight from 6 to 7 p.m.
Boys To Men and Wings To Fly will meet at 2:15 tomorrow afternoon. Girls will meet in room 106 and boys will meet in room 104.
Attending Lights On For Learning will benefit you in more ways than one. Lights On For Learning is the gateway to your academic success, delicious snacks, and great prizes. In the month of January, Lights On For Learning participants, who attend after-school regularly, could win super prizes, coupons for HAPPY JOES, BURGER KING, CHECKERS, ARBYS, SUBWAY, and more. Classes begin at 3:30 (today) with Mr. Smith (MATH) in room 201, Ms. Rice (ENG) in room 302, Ms. Stark (MATH) in room 300, Mr Hains (Credit Recovery) in room 128 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. There will be a brief meeting for any 9th & 10 grade girls interested in trying out for softball tomorrow, immediately after school, in the Driver’s Ed room (14). If you cannot attend, see coach Ebner.
Attention Boy’s and Girl’s for Track Team: Sign up for track will be held today and again on Wednesday the 13th and Thursday the 14th, immediately after school. For sign up, boys report to the cafeteria and girls report to room 232. Practice will begin on Monday, January 25th. All papers work, which includes physicals, parent’s consent, insurance and fee, must be turned in by the 25th.
The Girls’ Bowling team’s third game comeback fell short after spotting Galesburg a 149 pin lead at Northgate lanes yesterday. The Rocks lost by 91 pins. Ellen Moller had the high series for the match, at 575 and Amber Meyers had the high game of 256. Moller also added a 218 game. The Rocks are now 2 and 2 in dual matches. The J V team lost its match to the Silver Streaks. Ashley Skinner led the J V scoring for the Rocks with a 519 series. The Rocks bowl United Township in another dual match today at 4:00 at Highland Park Lanes.
