DEANS’S OFFICE
Students, please remember to have cell phone turned off and put away during the school day. Even if you get out early, do not have your cell phone out until you exit the building.
FREE TUTORING
Lights ON For Learning is available to help you in English, Math and Spanish. Ms. Jager is in room 127 for Spanish, Ms. Stark in room 300 for Math and Ms. Rice in room 302 for English. They are there every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 – 4:30.
COUNSELING OFFICE

The Aqualetic Swim Club is looking for students to work this summer. They are looking for students age 16 or older that would be interested in the positions of: Life Guard (must be Life Guard Certified and 15 year of age or older); Swim Teachers (must have their WSI) and Concession workers. If you are interested, please stop in the counseling Office for the phone number.
BAND NEWS:
The Band department is still collecting milk caps. They can be any Swiss Valley milk cap product, but the caps need to be clean! Teachers and students can bring the caps to Mr. Carlin or to a band member. Let’s support the “Pride of Rock Island” Band.
CLUBS
Today after school will be a celebration of Black History Month with a special movie night hosted by the African American Heritage club. This movie, The Great Debaters will be shown in the Little Theatre 3:30. Come and join the fun! Also, don’t forget about the mini conference will take place on Feb. 12, 2009 at 3:30. You will be able to learn about how to become a successful young man or woman, health issues facing teens, and how to prepare for college. We look forward to seeing you.

Hey kids! Do you want to try something new? Maybe, do something daring or fulfill a dream? Do you want to have fun, meet new people and put on great show for an audience? If you do, then come audition for Rocky’s Spring Musical “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” on Thursday, February 12th, after school, in room 220, the choir room. See Mrs. Foster in room 146 for more information.
Attention Interact members: the next Interact Club meeting will be this Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. in Mr. Stone’s room.
Students: You can give a gesture of appreciation or love to your friends, teachers and coworkers by sending them a carnation. These flowers can be purchased in the cafeteria, during lunch, until Wednesday, February 11th. Student Council would like your support, so buy your carnations today.
Swirl tickets will go on sale this Friday. The cost is $6 per ticket through Friday, February 20th. The cost will be $8 per ticket starting Monday, February 23rd. On Thursday, February, 26th the cost is $10 per ticket and will be on sale thru Friday’s lunch. No tickets will be sold after school on Friday the 27th.
