Hy-Vee Gardening Summer ProgramHave your visited the Milan Hy-Vee lately? Did you notice the raised-beds that have been built for our student gardeners? We are looking for 6 more students from grades 3-5 to participate in the Hy-Vee Sprouts summer program. Students will have fun working with the Hy-Vee Dietitian and the Hy-Vee Chef. They will bring home food that they have grown in the raised-bed gardens to cook for their families. J If you are interested in having your child participate and need a permission slip, please call the office at 793-5980. We would be glad to send one home. Hy-Vee would like students to commit to the once a week program, but they understand if they need to miss 1-2 weeks of the 10 week program. The program will not be held the week of July 4th. Inviting our families, current military family members, and veterans…
On Friday, May 25th, we will begin our day with an assembly at 8:45 a.m. The Honor Guard from the Milan American Legion will present our school with a new flag. We are asking that our families send pictures of their family veterans and/or current military members to Mrs. Lee by May 18. We are creating a Wall of Honor with the pictures. (Please write the name of the service person on the back of the picture and send it to school in an envelope. Also, include your child’s name so that we may return the picture.) We will also be holding our annual Field Day and Lunch on the Lawn, so please stay and join the fun.
