The Rock Island/Milan School District #41 Preschool Child

Development Program is now taking applications for

the Fall of 2011

Head Start Child Development Program

Eligibility – Children 3 – 5 who are not age-

eligible for kindergarten. Priority will be given

to children eligible to enter kindergarten in the Fall

of 2012. The family must meet ACYF income guide-

line requirements. Services for children with

disabilities available.

State-Funded Preschool Program

Eligibility – Children ages 3 – 5 who are not age-

eligible for kindergarten, and who have been iden-

tified through preschool screenings. If your child

has not been screened, call 793-5900, Ext. 241

for information regarding screenings. There are

no income guidelines.

THERE IS NO COST TO PARTICIPANTS

Both programs have classes located in Rock

Island/Milan public school buildings and include:

* Nutritious snacks and/or meals

* Individualized teaching

* Speech & hearing screenings

* Parent involvement

* Social services

* Health services

* Transportation provided except to Extended Day sites

*Transportation needs will be considered on an individual basis

* Ask us about our collaboration with other childcare providers

* Services for children with disabilities

Parent Cafes

Head Start Mission Statement

Head Start is a national program that promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and families.

Rock Island/ Milan School District #41 Preschools are a comprehensive child development programs for preschoolers residing in Rock Island/Milan geographical area.

The children we serve will eventually be students in the public school system and we want them to achieve to the fullest of their ability.

Our goal is to offer a comprehensive program for preschool children and their families with emphasis on education, parent involvement, health and social skills.
