All are invited to celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month at Rock Island High School’s 10th Annual JAZZ NIGHT, featuring Rod Pierson (saxophone; St. Ambrose University) with the RIHS, EJHS and WJHS Jazz Bands. Date is Monday April 15th in the RIHS cafeteria. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Music begins at 6:30 p.m.

Pizza and drinks will be available that night; pre-order your pizza using this handy Jazz Night Pizza Order Form.

The Choir Concert that was canceled on March 5 due to inclement weather has been rescheduled for Friday, April 5 in the RIHS Auditorium.

It’ll be July before you know it, so it’s time to start thinking about volunteering at the RIMA Band tent at the JDC! This is a huge band fundraiser, so please consider working a shift, or even a whole day, out at Deere Run! It’s fun, you’re in the shade all day, you get to meet new people, what’s not to like? If you think you might be interested in volunteering, please take a look at the form below:

Save the date! “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” will be presented by the RIHS Drama and Music Departments on May10th, 11th, and 12th (Thursday-Saturday). Showtime is 7:00 p.m. at the high school’s auditorium. Ticket prices are $5.00 general admission, $4.00 for students, and $2.00 for children with an accompanying adult.

Jazz Night approaches – this year it’s on Monday, April 16th, in the cafeteria at Rock Island High School. The jazz bands from RIHS, Washington, and Edison Junior High Schools will be joined by Dr. Edgar Crockett, music professor and director of the Black Hawk College Jazz Band. Come enjoy dinner (order form right here) and some cool cool music!
