I think that she does’nt know how to speak without using quotes because it shows the poet’s name.

She probably is keeping a secret from the children. She’s speaking mostly in a way neither of the kids can understand setting them up for a secret they will eventually know. They eventually explain themselves in chapter four. The kids will learn what the old ladies where trying to say.

i think that she just enjoys speaking different langauges because she speaks french, pascal,german and latin.

maybe she just knew that mode of speaking and used it and soon it became a habit like when she said,”Le coeur a ses raisons que la raison ne connait point. french.pascal. please do not post

I think Mrs.Who can’t strinng words together very good by herself. So she quotes from stuff.

In the reading it says that Mrs. Who finds it easier to speak other’s words and then put them together herself. This is why I think that Mrs. Who Finds it easier to speak this way.
