4th, 5th, and 6th Grade Tryouts for Travel Season will be Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the RI Intermediate Academy gym (enter from 6th Avenue). Boys must already be on a Future Rocks teams to tryout. Times are as follows: 4th grade (6:00-6:45), 5th grade (6:45-7:15), and 6th grade (7:15-8:15).
Cost for Travel Season is $50, and players will wear their uniforms from the regular season. This fee includes five tournaments, and teams will practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. For a tentative tournament schedule, visit the “Schedule” page on this website.
The rosters for the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade teams have been posted. Click on the “rosters” link at the top of the page to see the rosters for the 8 teams this year. Because of low numbers in 5th grade, there will be two teams at that age level this year. Coaches will be contacting players the week before practice begins.
This year, there will be three teams in each grade level – 4th, 5th, and 6th grade (advanced 3rd graders will be allowed to tryout for 4th grade teams because of perennial low numbers in 4th grade).
In addition, Future Rocks will be making improvements to our program by having our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade teams play the Black Hawk League. Each Saturday, our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade teams will be playing against teams from other schools/cities. This will allow our teams to compete against other competition. The Future Rocks teams will also play the other two Future Rocks teams in their grade level on Tuesday nights in November.
Because of additional league fees and uniform costs, we were forced to raise our fees. However, we believe boys will be getting a lot for their money because of the improvements that Future Rocks is making.
Registration for the 2011 Future Rocks 4th, 5th, and 6th grade season has been scheduled for Thursday, September 8th (7:30-8:30) and Sunday, September 11th (6:00-7:00) at Rock Island High Schoool Fieldhouse. Players will only need to attend ONE of these sessions to register.
The registration fee is $70 ($60 for boys who attend the Runnin’ Rocks Camp).
