			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Dear Parents/Guardians;</p>
<p><strong> We are excited to announce that the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) has partnered with Earl Hanson School to sponsor IMSA FUSION.</strong> This after-school math/science enrichment program is for grade 4-6 students who are talented, interested, and motivated in science and mathematics. The program will involve a commitment to attend sessions after school from 3:00-5:00 p.m. one day per week, September – May and an occasional Saturday. The cost of the program is $25.00 to defray materials costs.</p>
<p>Your son or daughter may apply for participation. Twenty students from grades 4-5-6 will be selected each semester. Students from grades 5-6 will be selected for the first semester and twenty students from grades 4-5 will be selected for the second semester based upon the following criteria:<br />
Teacher recommendation;<br />
Academic performance;<br />
ISAT performance;<br />
A student essay stating interest in the program.</p>
<p><span style="font-size: 13.2px">We would like to invite you and your student to attend an informational meeting about IMSA FUSION:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 13.2px"><strong>August 11, 2011, </strong></span><span style="font-size: 13.2px"><strong>6:00 p.m., </strong></span><span style="font-size: 13.2px"><strong>Earl Hanson Cafeteria</strong></span></p>
<p>At the meeting you will learn more about the program and the activities for the students and you will be able to pick up an application packet. Completed applications and parent signatures must be returned to Mrs. Taber on or before Thursday, August 18, 2011 for consideration. Students will be notified of acceptance into the program by September 2, 2011.</p>
