Congrats to RISD Spelling Bee participants from Denkmann.
Congrats go out to two of our students who had success at the Rock Island School District Spelling Bee. Mariyam Talybova, a third-grader in Mrs. Timm’s class was first runner-up in the Rock Island-Milan School District Spelling Bee. Liam Haskill, a 4th-grader in Mrs. Dasso’s class finished fourth. Both, as two of the six top spellers, will advance to the Regional Spelling Bee hosted by The Dispatch and The Rock Island Argus at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 29 at Centennial Hall at Augustana College in Rock Island. Alcoa will be the presenting sponsor of the regional spelling bee. The regional bee winner will advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee May 26 to June 2 in Washington, D.C.
