Rocks beat Morrison

Congratulations to the Rocks Varsity Swim team who defeated Morrison 114 to 50, and also congrats to the JV Rocks Swimmers who won 54 to 51!

First place finishers were the 200 Medley Relay of Fleming, Pappas, Rodriguez, and Holliday;  Charles Holliday in the 200 IM and 100 Butterfly;  Josh Fleming in the 50 Free and 500 Free; The 200 Free Relay of O’Houlihan, Radloff, Mewes, and Ponsetto; George Pappas in the 100 Backstroke; and the 400 Free Relay of Rodriguez, Fleming, Pappas, and Holliday.  

Attention Swim fans, the Rocks next meet is this Thursday at Moline at 6pm please come out and support your Rocks Swimmers!

Rocks finish 3rd at Panther Invite

Congrats to your Rocks Swimming team on finishing 3rd at the Panther Invitational Saturday! 

First place finishers were Charles Holliday in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, the 200 Free Relay of Daniel Rodriguez, Josh Fleming, George Pappas, and Charles Holliday and The 400 Free Relay of Josh Fleming, Nick Ponsetto, George Pappas, and Charles Holliday. 

Your Rocks Swim Team will face Morrison High School at home tomorrow night and Big Six rival Moline at Moline Thursday.

Rocks defeat Davenport West

Congrats to The Rocks Swim Team who defeated Davenport West last night with 123 to 43 points.  The Rocks won 11 of 12 events. 

First Place finishers were the Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay, Charles Holliday 200 yard freestyle and 100 freestyle, Nick Ponsetto 200 yard I.M., Josh Fleming 100 Yard Butterfly, 100 Yard Backstroke, George Pappas 500 Yard Freestyle, and Jordan Mewes in the 100 Breaststroke. 

The Junior Varsity team also won 68 to 37.

Way to go Rocks!

Rocks set personal bests!

The Rocky Swimmers would like to thank all of the fans that came out for the Moline duel meet last night.  With all of your support, the Rocks were able to win 6 of 11 Varsity swimming events and set 37 personal best swims.

First place Varsity finishes by the Rocks were the 200 Medley Relay – Matt Graf, Reed Duyvejonck, Daniel Rodriguez and Charles Holiday. 200 IM – Reed Duyvejonck, 50 Freestyle -Charles Holliday. 100 Freestyle – Charles Holiday, 200 Free Relay – Charles Holiday, Reed Duyvejonck, Matt Graf and Nick Ponsetto, and the 100 Breaststroke – Reed Duyvejonck. 

Our last home duel meet will be next Tuesday (2/1/11) against Galesburg at 6:00 pm. This is Senior night! Please come out and support our swimmers – Go Rocks!
 
Congratulations to Rorry O’Houlahan (1st year Rocky Swimmer) who will be featured on the 6:00 pm news on the KWQC – TV6 Sports segment with Dan Pearson this evening (Friday).
