The Washington Junior High School 8th grade boys basketball team got their first win of the year last night in their home opener against the Spartans from John Deere. It was great team effort with many stand-out performances. Alonzo Cole led the way with 16 points. Other key contributors were Alize Ivy with 9 points and Zach Leatherman with some clutch shots down the stretch. Tromaine Smith was huge off the bench scoring ten points.

The RI junior high girls cross country team won 2nd place in conference yesterday, with Maggie Flowers placing 9th and winning a medal. Mariah Prieto ran a personal best, dropping her time by almost a minute.
The boys did very well, with top Washington boys being Connor Purvis and Jerry Hacker. Tony Flaherty, Logan Haskill, Zach Gray and Pearson Kerchner all had personal bests. Congratulations on a great season!
