The 2012 Rock Island Boys Soccer Invitational features Bremen, Homewood Flossmoor, Lockport , and West Aurora as our four “out of the area” teams. They will be paired against Geneseo, Rock Island, United Township, and Washington representing the Quad City area. This arrangement allows teams to play schools that they do not ordinarily see during the regular season. All tournament games will be held at the Alan Campbell Sports Complex in Rock Island, which is a park like setting with restrooms, concessions, a children’s playground, and numerous soccer fields.
Each team is guaranteed four games. Teams will receive 6 points for a win, 3 points for a tie, 1 point for each goal scored up to 3, and 1 point for a shutout. Games will consist of two 30-minute halves with a 5-minute half-time.
Trophies: The team with the most points will receive the Champion Trophy at the end of the tournament. The team scoring the second highest number of points will receive a Second Place Trophy. The team scoring the third highest number of points will receive a Third Place Trophy.
Tie Breakers: (In priority order)
Gate Admission: $3 for spectators. Coaches and players admitted free (of course)
Officials: Two IHSA certified officials will be provided for each game.
