The following scholarships are now available in the Counseling Office:

| Illinois PTA – Lillian E. Glover Scholarship(online only) | Must major in education or education related major degree program that requires certification from a state board of education. Rank in upper 25%. Awards $500 and $1000. Apply at www.illinoispta.org Deadline February 15th. |
| Mediacom Communications- World Class Scholarship Program(online only) | Completed application, essay, transcript, and two letters of recommendation. Apply on-line www.mediacomworldclass.com Deadline February 15th |
| Charles Curry SMART Bus Scholarship | Must attend college in Iowa or Illinois, have a 3.0 GPA, major in Natural Resources or Education and complete required application. Deadline February 16th. |
| **Illinois AMVETS Scholarship(Online only) | Must have taken the ACT, high school rank, grades, and financial need considered. Essay required. Apply at www.ilamvets.orgDeadline March 1st. |
| Illinois Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Scholarship(Online only) | Must have C or above average. Family income below $40,000, write essay, attend college, vocational or technical school. Award not stated. Must request an application at www.ioof-il.org Deadline March 1st. |
| National Defense Transportation Assoc. (NDTA) (online application) | This scholarship promotes careers in Business Transportation and Logistics. Four (2) $3,500 and (4) $2,000 scholarships. Must complete application, submit ACT, two written recommendations, 800 word essay and official transcripts. Apply at www.ndtascottstlouis.orgDeadline March 1st. |
| South Rock Island Township Officials of Illinois Scholarship | Seven (7) – $2,000 awards will be given. Must plan to attend an Illinois institution. B average required. Must have demonstrated an active interest in extracurricular activities, which may include interest in local government and community service. Must be US citizen. Essay required. Deadline March 1st. |
| Tri-County School Food Service Association | One time scholarship to student attending college that plans to major in Food Service, Home Economics, Dietetics, or child care. Basically any degree that will involve working with children. $200 scholarship. Deadline is March 1st. |
| Joyce E. Mirr Education Scholarship | For graduating seniors who rank in the top 1/3 of the class and plan to major in education. Award $1,000. Deadline March 12th. |
| Kenneth Greene Wrestling Scholarship | Senior wrestlers eligible. Based on integrity, leadership, sportsmanship, character, desire, dedication, and financial need. Deadline March 12th. |
| Rock Island Optometric Scholarship | Must major in fields such as optometry, medicine, nursing and dentistry. Submit brief statement of their interest in the scholarship. Award $100. Deadline March 12th |
| Theresa Meincke Memorial Scholarship | Must be a Rocky student who plans to major in English or journalism, demonstrate talent for creative writing and rank in top 1/3 of class. Must submit four writing samples. Award $1000. Deadline March 12th. |
| Thode Family Scholarship | Awarded to student interested in the Fine Arts. Must have a GPA of 2.5-3.5. 2 Awards annually (one male and one female). Must major in the Fine Arts in college. $500 scholarship. Deadline is March 12th. |
| University of Iowa – Lappin Family Scholarship | Must attend University of Iowa and be a member of National Honor Society. Financial need is a minor consideration. Award $750, renewable for four years. Deadline March 12th. |
| Zonta International – Young Women in Public Affairs (available online) | Senior women interested in careers in public affairs, public policy, and community organizations. Apply at www.zonta.org or www.zontaquadcities.org Deadline March 19th. |
| ASHRAE-American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning EngineersApply online at: www.mississippivalleyashrae.org/student/student.htm | $1,000 scholarship for students interested in pursuing a career in HVAC. Must complete application, send transcripts and letters of recommendation. Deadline March 26th. |
| IH Missisippi Valley Credit UnionApply online at www.ihmvcu.org | Twenty-one (21) $1,000 scholarships for credit union members. Must complete application, submit transcript and include letters of reference. Deadline is March 30th. |
| Wilbert and Carol Keppy Scholarship (RI County Farm Bureau Foundation) | Must be RI Co. Farm Bureau Member. Four (4) $750. and 00 scholarships. Must attend accredited college, technical school or university. Deadline is March 31st. |
| IA/IL- American Chemical Society /Donald Kiser Memorial Scholarship | A one year $750 award. Must pursue studies in natural science or engineering. Must also have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement in science or related area. Deadline April 1st. |
| Rock Island High School Class of 1956 Foundation | RIHS graduating senior. 2.0 GPA of better. Three letters of recommendation. Completed application. Essay required. $700 award. Deadline April 15th. |
| Center for Belgian Culture Scholarship | Student must be of good character and possess minimum GPA of 3.0. Requires letter of recommendation, completed application and essay. Deadline April 17th. |
| Alcoa AAC Leadership Scholarship | $1,000 scholarship-renewable for up to 4 years. Must submit an application, resume, two recommendations, and official transcript. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.25, major in engineering, business or finance and attend a summer internship. Deadline is April 23rd. |
| Hass Family Scholarship (online at www.rockislandeducationfoundation.org) | Open to students with a 3.0 GPA, good leadership skills andcharacter. Must not be in the top 10. Award: approximately $3,500. Deadline April 30th |
| The Amy Helpenstell Liberal Arts Scholarship (online at www.rockislandeducationfoundation.org) | For a student who is planning to attendAugustana College. Award based on financial need, citizenship and good academic standing.Students must verify admittance to Augustana. Award is $1,000.

Preference will be given to those who has been in music, drama or art for two years and who wish to pursue a degree in the Fine Arts. Criteria based on financial need, active in school and community, citizenship and good academic standing. Student must verify admittance to Augustana. Award: $4,000. Deadline April 30th |

Must have participated in the business curriculum at Rocky for at least two years. Financial need and school and community involvement are considered. Award: $1,000.Deadline April 30th

| Rock Island High School Class of 1965 Scholarship (online at www.rockislandeducationfoundation.org) | Award based on financial need,citizenship, good academic standing, school and community activities. Award: $500 Deadline April 30th |
| Rick Gilliland Scholarship (online at www.rockislandeducationfoundation.org) | For a student who is going to enter the field of education andplanning to attend Black Hawk College, who hopefully will return to teach in the Rock Island school system. Award: $500 Deadline April 30th |
| Mollie Montgomery Memorial Scholarship (online at www.rockislandeducationfoundation.org) | Three individual scholarships are available: one for a student planning to attend a vocational/tech school, one for a student planning to attend a junior college, and one for a student planning to attend a traditional 4-year college. Award:$1,000. Deadline April 30th |
| The Rock Island-Milan Education Foundation Scholarship (online at www.rockislandeducationfoundation.org) | Two individual scholarships are available, one for a male student and one for a female student. Must demonstrate financial need and must have a 3.0 or better G.P.A. Individual award: $2,500. Deadline April 30th |
| Bud Forbes Memorial Scholarship (online at www.rockislandeducationfoundation.org) | Two individual scholarships are available in 2010 only for graduating Rock Island High School athletes who are planning to attend college. Applicant must be an athlete with at least two years of varsity letters in any sport and have a 3.0or better G.P.A. Individual award: $750. Deadline April 30th |
| The Ben Clark Memorial Scholarship (online at www.rockislandeducationfoundation.org) | Two individual scholarships are available in 2010 only for graduating Rock Island High School athletes who are planning to attend college. Applicant must be an athlete with at least two years of varsity letters in any sport and have a 3.0or better G.P.A. Individual award: $750. Deadline April 30th |
