ISAT is right around the corner so we have started looking at some “practice” ISAT sheets and are going over them weekly. They are in your child’s Math folder daily. Your child should bring their math folder home weekly and study all sheets we’ve practiced and have gone over together in class! Ask your child for this folder!!
We are working on comprehension skills in reading.

We are currently working on comprehension in reading. The students will be required to show comprehension skills in a variety of genres in reading material. Some of the skills are inferencing, predicting, author’s purpose as well as just plain old read and answer type comprehension pages.
ISAT is right around the corner. In math we are focusing on working through story problems and explaining our answers. I’m also trying to expose them to various terms they will need to know. Of course it is impossible to cover everything. They will bring home a packet on Friday which has some math problems we have worked on together. The problems are a little easier for them to understand. Many of the “terms” are the same so I’m trying to expose them to the common terms. Please have your child go over this packet with you! Every little bit helps.
Reading focus continues to be reading for meaning and comprehension.
