About
Future Rocks is the boys’ division of the Rock Island-Milan Basketball Association (RIMBA). The organization was restructured in the summer of 2008 and took on a new name. The by-laws were adjusted, but much of the organization remained intact. The Executive Board is made up of nine members, with a number of other Board Members involved in numerous voluntary capacities.
The organization serves boys in grades 3rd-8th:
3rd-4th Grade League: January-February (2 practices a week, 5 games played on Saturdays)
5th-6th Grade League: October-December (2 practices a week, 2 games a week on Wednesdays & Saturdays)
5th-6th Grade “Travel Teams”: January-February (two 5th grade and two 6th grade teams selected; each
team plays in 4-5 tournaments)
7th-8th Grade “Travel Teams”: January-February (two 7th and two 8th grade teams selected from junior
high teams; play in 4-5 tournaments)
- The coaches for all of our teams are volunteer coaches.
- Costs (balls, uniforms, officials, tournament entry fees) are covered by player entry fees, admissions, and the “travel tournaments” that we host.
